CHRISTINA VON CLAPARÈDE-CROLA

My work explores the relationship between people and place.
Across journalism, editorial leadership, and brand storytelling, I'm drawn to the ways architecture, design, hospitality, and culture shape how we experience the world. Whether I'm writing about a neighborhood, helping a brand define its voice, or profiling a community organization, I'm ultimately interested in one thing: helping people connect more deeply with the places and stories around them.
Where Editorial Meets Strategy

Editorial Leadership
I help ideas become stories worth reading.
As a Residential Writer and Deputy Editor at Homes.com, I wrote reported features on neighborhoods, architecture, housing, and city culture while helping maintain editorial quality across an eight-writer team. I also reviewed copy, mentored writers, and collaborated with designers, photographers, and producers to bring stories to life for an audience of more than 111 million monthly readers.
Editorial Writing
Curiosity has always been the throughline of my work. Whether reporting on housing trends, interviewing business owners, exploring Richmond neighborhoods, or writing essays about the places we return to, I'm most interested in the relationship between people and place.
Recent work includes ConsumerAffairs, Style Weekly, The Columns, and my personal Substack, where I write about community, culture, design, architecture, and everyday life.
Brand Storytelling
Great brands deserve stories that feel as thoughtful as the products and experiences they create.
At Evergreen Enterprises, I developed copy across ecommerce, retail, email, print, and product launches for more than 50,000 products sold through retailers including Target, Wayfair, and Amazon. Today, I continue partnering with brands, nonprofits, and cultural organizations on messaging, editorial strategy, long-form storytelling, and voice development.
Current Projects & Community
Committee Member & Contributing Writer | The Columns, Museum District Association
In early 2026, I joined the committee and contributing writer team behind The Columns, a neighborhood publication centered on Richmond’s Museum District. It’s an opportunity to further explore the intersection of place, culture, and community storytelling through the lens of neighborhood life, architecture, and local identity—the kinds of stories I’ve always found myself returning to, both professionally and personally.
